Initial Evaluation and Re-Evaluations

Your initial evaluation is a full 60-minute session: a baseline for your PT goals. A case history and medical review is followed by a physical assessment which can include some manual therapy. Home exercises are prescribed to begin before your first standard session. It is common for patients to feel an improvement even after just this initial visit!

If an additional diagnosis or condition occurs during the course of your physical therapy, a re-evaluation may be scheduled so your care plan accommodates any changes in physical health.

Standard Physical Therapy Session

A standard PT session with Dr. Weiss is one-on-one for 60 minutes, beginning with a brief review of the patient's condition, any changes, improvements, concerns, etc.

Katie then begins hands-on manual therapy to help relieve tension and stress, which increases the effectiveness of therapeutic exercise.

Therapeutic exercises and stretches are the primary tools to strengthen and rehabilitate. Sessions are focused on these activities as well as instruction on how to do them correctly at home.

Pelvic Floor PT practice typically involves 1 session per week with one-on-one care from the doctor in contrast to most outpatient clinics which provide 2-3 sessions/week with an aide overseen by the therapist.

Dry Needling

Katie's physical therapy patients may receive dry needling included in their treatment plan during standard PT sessions, and she also offers a 30 minute dry needling only session to those seeking the benefits this treatment without additional therapy.
